If I could leave this place 10 out of 5 stars, I would. They are THAT amazing!
The food is incredible and the service is next-level! Their attention to detail is unmatched.
Garlic fried rice. Masubi. Poke (omg, the poke!). Chicken katsu (get it with katsu sauce AND gravy). Chicken teriyaki noodle bowl. Ube cheesecake. You honestly can't go wrong with anything here.
Vegas has SO MANY great eats, and we came back here twice during our short visit. We had to get our fix before leaving town.
I will be back every time I'm in Vegas! Do your taste buds a favour and pay them a visit. Run! Don't walk. Seriously!
Excellent, friendly service as always. We always order too much food and the staff warns us, but we want to try everything every time we visit. My friends love the music. I dislike the misleading political ads in between.
Island Flavor is a Hawaiian restaurant that is a paradise for food enthusiasts. It offers an extraordinary dining experience that captivates all the senses. Located off the strip of Las Vegas, hidden on the northwest side, this establishment takes diners on a journey through the vibrant flavors of Hawaiian cuisine, elevating it to an art form. During my visit, I ordered the Mixed Plate, nothing short of a volcanic explosion of flavors that left me in a euphoric state.
The Mixed Plate at Island Flavor is a true symphony of flavors, featuring two exceptional components: Teriyaki Marinated Chicken Thighs and Kalua Pig with Cabbage. It's a celebration of the diversity of Hawaiian cuisine, which combines a harmonious blend of ingredients that epitomize the island's rich culinary heritage.
The Teriyaki Marinated Chicken Thighs were a revelation of taste and texture. Each bite of the succulent, tender chicken thighs was a testament to the chef's skill and expertise. The teriyaki marinade infused the meat with a sweet and savory flavor that was perfectly balanced. The char-grilled surface added a smoky note to the dish, and the result was nothing less than heavenly.
The Kalua Pig and Cabbage was a fitting tribute to tradition. This classic Hawaiian dish is prepared with the utmost care, capturing the essence of island flavors. The Kalua Pig was slow-cooked to perfection, and the addition of cabbage provided a subtle crunch and a mild sweetness that complemented the pork perfectly.
Now, let's talk about the monstrous Spam Musubi. This colossal creation is an authentic Hawaiian delight, where the salty and savory allure of Spam meets the comforting embrace of rice and a layer of nori seaweed. The spam musubi was generously sized, making it a hearty and satisfying side dish. Each bite was a fusion of textures and flavors, with the slight crispness of the nori contrasting with the tender, seasoned Spam and sticky rice. It was an actual umami bomb that delighted the palate.
To add to the perfection of the meal, the server was exceptional, a paragon of sweetness. She went above and beyond to make my dining experience memorable. Her thoughtfulness was evident when she surprised me with a complimentary Rangoon chip, showcasing the warm hospitality and attention to detail that Island Flavor embodies.
In conclusion, Island Flavor is a culinary haven that transports you to the enchanting shores of Hawaii, offering a gastronomic experience that is both sophisticated and soulful. The Mixed Plate, with its Teriyaki Marinated Chicken Thighs, Kalua Pig and Cabbage, and monstrous Spam Musubi, was a revelation of flavors and textures that celebrated the best of Hawaiian cuisine. It is a restaurant where tradition meets innovation, and the love of food meets the art of cooking. My dining experience was mind-blowing, and I wholeheartedly recommend Island Flavor to anyone seeking a journey to the heart of Hawaii through their taste buds.
